I Am the LORD
Leviticus 19:37 NLT You must be careful to keep all of my decrees and regulations by putting them into practice. I am the Lord. I am the LORD Were Your words to Your people after each mandate. They were to listen and obey. Why should they listen? You created them with exquisite care and precision and rescued them from slavery You delivered them from Pharaoh and saved them from dying in the desert You provided manna, water, and quail and protected them from heat and danger You gave them righteous commands and made a way through blood sacrifices Then became their King What more reason for allegiance than I am the LORD? Why must I listen? You created me with exquisite care and precision and rescued me from sin’s dread sway You delivered me from darkness and saved me from perishing in my sins You provide me food, shelter, and clothing and protect me from evil day and night You placed Your laws in my heart and gave me life through Jesus sacrifice Then became my King! What more reason for allegiance than I am the LORD?! Capturing the Mind and Heart
Ezekiel 14:5 I will do this to capture the minds and hearts of all my people who have turned from me to worship their detestable idols. To capture minds and hearts is Your desire, O Lord To persevere in doing so is Your commitment To make them loyal to You alone is Your goal You will deal with minds and hearts that seek You but not sincerely You will be their judge This You do to capture their minds and hearts You call us to turn away from idols And to renounce them So that You may reign This You want to capture their minds and hearts You will make an example of the proud And will remove them From true followers This You’ll do to capture their minds and hearts Departure of God’s Presence and glory
Psalm 78:61 NLT He allowed the Ark of his might to be captured; he surrendered his glory into enemy hands. Your glory departed The Ark of Your strength Your token presence Your people sinned gravely They were unfaithful And would not repent Your true grace was absent Was not in their hearts Not with treachery You waited patiently For them to repent But they would not Let go of Your idols You commanded them But they resisted Is there no other way To avert judgment? The rod must now strike! Hardened hearts remained hard Deserving judgment The gavel must fall Your glory must depart The sign of Your strength Must take leave of them Hard hearts must not quarrel With the Almighty’s Just consequences They must be accepted By rebellious hearts In deep contrition From Generation to Generation
Psalm 78:4 We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about his power and his mighty wonders. From generation to generation Let the truth be told Let none God’s praises withhold Tell it to your children Hide it not from them Tell it again and again From generation to generation Let God’s works be known His glorious deeds be shown Show it to your children Hide it not from them Show it again and again From generation to generation Let God’s power be seen His mighty wonders be keen Live it before your children Hide it not from them Live it again and again From generation to generation God’s truth surely share Let it be a constant flare Wanting God’s Will
2 Kings 3:11-NLT “But King Jehoshaphat of Judah asked, “Is there no prophet of the Lord with us? If there is, we can ask the Lord what to do through him.” 2 Kings 3:11-NKJV But Jehoshaphat said, “Is there no prophet of the Lord here, that we may inquire of the Lord by him?” King Jehoshaphat Wanted God’s will “Is there no prophet of the LORD,” he asked “…that we may inquire of the LORD?” King Jehoshaphat Wanted God’s will Elisha was still there with God’s will “The word of the LORD is with Him.” King Jehoshaphat Trusted God’s will The king of Israel doubted God’s will He said, “The Lord will not save us.” King Jehoshaphat Believed God’s Word The king of Israel suspected God He said, “We will be defeated.” Jehoshaphat's faith-filled heart Wanted God’s will Trusted God’s word And was blessed by God's will Another Kingdom
Luke 22:28-30 “You have stayed with me in my time of trial. And just as my Father has granted me a Kingdom, I now grant you the right to eat and drink at my table in my Kingdom. And you will sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” Another kingdom Your kingdom An eternal kingdom A kingdom That is not of this world An eternal kingdom Your kingdom A kingdom of no carnal battles An eternal kingdom Your kingdom A kingdom Where no one loves the world An eternal kingdom Your kingdom A kingdom Where none befriends the world An eternal kingdom Your kingdom A kingdom Righteousness, peace, and joy An eternal kingdom Your kingdom A kingdom to be sought above all an eternal kingdom your kingdom Another kingdom Your kingdom An eternal kingdom Your kingdom Weep and Sigh
Ezekiel 9:4 “He said to him, ‘Walk through the streets of Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of all who weep and sigh because of the detestable sins being committed in their city.” Weep and sigh That’s what we should do When we feel the Father’s heart The heat of His desire for holiness Weep and sigh And please the Father With our hearts burdened by sin With hearts that are one with Him in sorrow Weep and sigh To show that we are In sync with the Father’s heart A heart that is burdened by sinfulness Holiness
Leviticus 11:44 “For I am the Lord your God. You must consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy. So do not defile yourselves.” The call of God Is to a life of holiness A walk with God that begins with A desire that grows into a consuming passion for This one thing To know God and please Him It’s a desire that sends all else into the background like a silhouette No sacrifice is too great to pay for The extraordinary privilege of drawing close to the Father in the freedom and comfort of closeness Only holiness Can afford us the pleasure and honor of being granted access to the Father in confidence and freedom It is the sacredness of His presence that beckons the sacredness in our hearts And invites us to linger in sweet and vital union Holiness is worth The price of pride and self-will It’s worth the time Set-apart to seek His face in longing anticipation It’s worth losing sleep to slay the giant of resistant sin Against My Idols
Ezekiel 6:3-4 “Proclaim this message from the Sovereign Lord against the mountains of Israel. This is what the Sovereign Lord says to the mountains and hills and to the ravines and valleys: I am about to bring war upon you, and I will smash your pagan shrines. All your altars will be demolished, and your places of worship will be destroyed.” Against my idols Storms the Lord They will be judged By the Lord Against the places Of idol-worship Storms the Lord They will be destroyed By the Lord Against the altars of idol-worship Storms the Lord Usurpers are judged By the Lord Against idolatry He will bring Desolation Destruction Devastation Demolishing Until He is acknowledged As the One true God Until He is known As God alone |
